Humanitarian Aid Project

Right after the 4th of July our ward had a Patriotic Day. We had a big pancake breakfast and a parade for the kids. We also put together over 30 boxes for the military personal from our ward to be shipped out to our soldiers who are on the front lines in the trenches. Some of these men and women go days without eating because they run out of food and if the dust storms come in then the helicopters can't land to give them supplies. They have already received some of our packages and were so grateful. The day the received them they had been without food for 2 days. As you can imagine the boxes emptied quickly! Our ward is sending out 2-4 boxes a week until December. We are so blessed to live in a free country and are able to go to the grocery store on a whim to get whatever we want or need. I think that we take our freedoms for granted and need to remember those less fortunate than us and always have a prayer in our heart for our military fighting for our freedoms!
